Dear SYH Membership and U10/Mite Families:

With the number of COVID cases still in a concerning state, SYH’s Health and Safety Committee along with Staff and Board have come to decision to POSTPONE by 2 WEEKS, the start of the regular season schedule and the commencement of the Mites and U10 program.

This means that on Monday, November 2nd, the pre-season schedule is still in effect and your child should show up as if nothing has changed on the schedule. This also means that MITES will begin the week of Monday, November 16th – all will likely have a new schedule and further communications on what that will look like will be shared in follow-up communications.

Please note, this delay allows for the following:

• For the county to get its cases of COVID down to prevent further Level 3 restrictions 
• For SYH staff and TOB staff to work with Summit County Public Health and come up with a more conducive schedule accommodating the public health mandates with regards to youth sports at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena 

Lastly, we thank you for your flexibility, your patience and we understand how that during this time, changes are inevitable as we navigate keeping our kids on the ice, skating and playing – which remains everyone’s top priority! 

The staff and board would like to host an All-Membership Zoom Meeting closer to the announcement of the regular season schedule, so please stay tuned for that invitation in the newsletter and your team manager.

Teams are playing this weekend in a lot of places, so travel safe and have fun!
