2 years ago at the inception of the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League (RMJHL) Breckenridge was at the forefront of the brand new RMJHL and one of the most popular towns in the RMJHL. After a 1 year hiatus the RMJHL is planning a return to Breckenridge with the new club, The Breckenridge Bolts. The Bolts will return some familiar faces and plenty of new ones as they take to the ice this fall.
The Bolts have hired Kory deKoevend as head coach for their 2017-2018 Campaign.
Kory has been involved in coaching in Breckenridge for 7 years coaching many different levels and age groups. He has also been instrumental in the development of the High Plains Hockey League Mountain Militia program. Kory has coached in the RMJHL both seasons of its existence, first as an assistant coach for the original Breckenridge team and then as an assistant coach with the Colorado Thunderbirds Junior A tier 3 RMJHL team. He returns to his native Summit County and Breckenridge to lead the return of Junior Hockey to the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. The Bolts will arrive late in August and will play their 1st games in late September.
