This free one-hour event is open to kids between the ages of 5-to-13 and will give them an opportunity to try the goaltending position. It will take place on Saturday, May 26 beginning at 5:00p. Participants should arrive at the Stephen C. West Arena in Breckenridge at least 30 minutes early so that we can get you properly suited up in the proper goalie gear! Please bring your own skates (rentals are available), jock/jill, hockey pants, shin pads, and a helmet. The rest of the equipment will be provided for you at no charge. A parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver for their child before they are allowed on the ice.
“Our goal with this Try Goalie event is to give young athletes in Breckenridge and surrounding towns an opportunity to try the goaltending position at no cost to the family,” said The Goalie Guild founder Justin Goldman. “Since we’re running this in conjunction with the 2018 Global Goaltending Retreat, kids and parents will also get the chance to meet pro goalie coaches from other countries and ask any questions they may have about goalie training.”
The event is being hosted together by USA Hockey and Summit Youth Hockey and will last exactly one hour. Equipment will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration is NOT required to participate, but if you would like to reserve a spot, feel free to submit the form below!
