Summit Joins the WCHL

By Chris Miller, 07/28/18, 11:30AM MDT

The CDYHL has officially changed with 5 member associations splitting off to form a new league - the Western Colorado Hockey League (WCHL).  Summit will join Vail, Steamboat, Aspen, and Glenwood in this new league.  There have been months of meetings and in-depth conversations as to the pros and cons of such a change, and in the end, this change is in the best interest of our program moving forward.  The goal is to gain consistency in the quality of competition with like minded associations while simultaneously improving the travel schedule and future opportunities.  The core 5 associations are committed to a unified approach focused on the best hockey experience for the players founded on USA Hockey guidelines and development within a competitive environment.  (The MSGHL is still the league through which our girls teams will play)
