What is Summit Prep?

Summit Prep is an exceptional program specifically tailored to meet the needs of middle school and high school players (Grades 6-12) affiliated with Summit Youth Hockey. This innovative program provides players with a unique opportunity to enhance their hockey skills through on-ice sessions, off-ice workouts/classroom sessions.

Changes to Summit Prep

Summit Prep will offer two options this upcoming school year for Middle Schoolers (6th-9th Grade) and High Schoolers (9th-12th Grade).

Summit Prep High School is a program that offers Summit County High School hockey players the opportunity to accelerate their hockey skill development through an academic-athlete program held twice a week for 22 weeks. 

High School Athletes must apply through the High School Academic Athlete program through the Summit County School District.

This program will run from Monday, August 31, through Thursday, February 18. The program will have 2 Ice Sessions a week on Mondays and Thursdays from 1-2:15 PM. After each skate, players will have the opportunity to do an off-ice workout with one of our Summit Youth Hockey Coaches. 

This group will work primarily with Coach Q and Cody Aidala. 

Goalie Coaching will be provided.

Guest Coaches will be appearing throughout the season as well.

COST: $2100

SYH Staff will be hosting an informational session about the upcoming Summit Prep Program for High School Players on Tuesday, August 11, via Google Meet at 5:30 PM. Please be sure to stop by if you have any questions.

Our Summit Prep Middle School includes a 60-minute off-ice session on Thursday and a 75-minute on-ice session on Wednesdays. Rest assured, the scheduling of these sessions will not conflict with any Summit Youth Hockey practices, allowing participants to maximize their training without any overlap. This program is for all players in 6th-9th Grade or playing 12U-15U Hockey this season.

This group will work primarily with Matt Peacock, Cody Aidala, Coach Q, and Coach Kevin Kilfer(Our New Goalie Coach).  

Guest Coaches will also appear throughout the season.

Summit Prep Middle School will offer 2 sessions this upcoming season.

Session 1: September 2 - October 28

Wednesday - On Ice - 3:30-4:45 PM

Thursday - Off Ice - 4-5 PM

9 Total Weeks

Cost - $600

Session 2: November 4 - March 3

Wednesday - On Ice - 3:00-4:15 PM

Thursday - Off Ice - 4-5 PM

15 Total Weeks

Cost - $950
