5 Hole Pond Hockey Tournament

We're so excited that you're interested in the 5-Hole Pond Hockey Tournament. This event is about having fun and raising funds for Summit Youth Hockey. When you hit the ice, remember to play with sportsmanship and to show your fellow players kindness. Pass the puck, make new friends, and enjoy playing hockey in our fantastic little town. Get ready for some 3v3 games with a maximum of 6 players per team.

All the action is at Breckenridge Golf Club's main pond.

When can we expect our first game?

The games will start at 5 PM on Friday, February 5, and start again Saturday night, February 6. Games will consist of "2" 15-minute Halves.

Where will the tournament be hosted at?

We are excited to announce that the tournament will take place at the Breckenridge Golf Club, 200 Clubhouse Dr, Breckenridge, CO 80424. We will utilize the main Pond off of the Clubhouse.

How much does it cost to enter my team in the tournament, and what am I paying for?

​​​Tournament fees are $900.00 per team. Entry fees fund rink construction, rentals and equipment, site fees, registration processing, swag, pucks, shovels, staffing, and maintenance; any remaining funds are donated to Summit Youth Hockey.  Thank you for helping us fund our youth program!

How many players can we have on our team?

We recommend 6 players per team. Pond hockey is about ice touches and puck touches! Players may play for only one registered team per division. If you want to play on more than one team in different divisions, keep in mind you may have games at the same time, so you'll miss one of your team's games.

If a player on our team is injured or not fit to play come time for a game, can we make substitutions?

You can make any roster changes you'd like before the tournament starts. Please email Cody@summityouthhockey.org with your changes within 1 week of the tournament start date. If you have injured or absent players during the tournament, you can only make roster changes during round-robin play. Once play-offs start, there are no substitutions.

How many games does my team get to play and when?

Every team in the tournament is guaranteed 4 games during round-robin play in your division. The top-tier teams in each division will play in a playoff on Sunday.

We set the schedules on the Sunday night before the tournament. We'd like to do this sooner, but many factors affect schedule creation, including ice conditions, which determine how many rinks we can build. We will post all schedules on this website and email them to all registered players.

Can we make schedule requests?

While we'd love to accommodate every team's special schedule requests, it simply is not possible with the number of teams. You can play a game without your whole team present, so you may need to play a game or two with one teammate absent if your entire team can't make a game.​
